Hello and welcome to this episode of Wealth Consciousness. I'm always so happy to be able to be with you, and although I know I'm recording this in a separate place from where you are as you listen to it, I believe that we connect energetically on a level where we're actually able to have a more expansive experience when we're just listening. And so oftentimes, as I listen to our client members talk about their struggles and joys in scaling their businesses, I find that there's this common theme. And so as always, I'd like for us to start with the idea of recalibrating our nervous system. And so what I mean by that is I'd like for you, we do each time on this podcast to take a moment just to check in with yourself. Take a moment to put away all the distractions, put away your phone.
Move yourself away from your computer if you're willing to be walking outside and listening to this podcast, or perhaps even just sitting down with your coffee or with your tea, and taking a moment to allow yourself to do something other than stay on the habit trail. So if you would have a seat or decide to make this a walking meditation for you today, but put all the distractions away. And what I'm going to ask you to do is to pay attention to changing the channel in your mind. And so the best way that we can change our channel where we're giving our attention, is to close our eyes. So if you can find a gaze or even better close your eyes, if you're out walking, you can find a gaze and just allow yourself to just settle in on that focus. Or if you have the ability to close your eyes even better. So what I'd like you to do is close your eyes and then pay attention to breathing in through the nose, then out through the mouth.
But as you tap into the feeling, the sound, the knowingness of touching base with your own breath, of bringing your attention back to your body, stepping out of the mind for a moment and really just allowing yourself to settle into the body. And so notice what it feels like to just pay attention to breath. Notice what it feels like to consciously breathe, intentionally. Breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth. Now on your next deep breath in, I'd like for you to think about the idea of finding your center. Now, for some people, their center will be right at their diaphragm. Third chakra, some people will be in the heart, others will actually be sort of at the sit bones, the root chakra. But I'd like for you to find your center, find your center in your body, that place that you can practice going to sort of your internal guidance system.
But if you could bring your attention to finding your center and perhaps you can notice what it's like to pay attention to your center. Are you comfortable there? Would you like to quickly move on? Does it sort of raise your awareness of anxiety? Or perhaps that feels like a place that's kind of a hotbed. Maybe you don't want to pay attention. I'd like you to just notice what it feels like to pay attention to finding your center. And for some of you, that's going to feel like home. Like, ah, I just settled in. And that's what we're looking for.
So now as you have found your center, I'd like for you to make a note in your mind that this is the place that I can go when I need to find my direction, when I need to find my inner wisdom, when I need to collect myself, when I need to change the channel. So bringing your attention to your center, still continuing to breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth. I have a question for you. And that question is, while you're sitting in your center, I'd like you to ask your knowingness, what are you hiding?
Now that might seem like sort of a shocking question, but stick with it. Stay there. I know you'll almost immediately have an answer, whether it's something that we hide from or something that we hide. Most of us have this experience, and especially those of us who are high achievers. So I'd like you to just stay with that idea for a moment in your centered place, asking yourself, asking your inner wisdom, what am I hiding or what am I hiding from? And when you have an answer for that, I'd like for you to sort of regulate your breath, just back to your normal rhythm of breathing, and allow yourself to come back to this present moment, the chair you're sitting in, the place where you're walking. And then perhaps you'll want to write down for yourself as you open your eyes into this present moment, what it is that you're hiding from or that you're hiding. Now, there's a reason why I ask you this question, and feel free to take a moment, write it down, write down the question. Write down what's your first response to that. Perhaps you'll even write down what it felt like to find your center. Did that feel like home or did it feel like sort of a foreign place to be?
What I'd like you to do now is to think about this idea, and maybe you won't have an answer right away, but I'm going to share with you what has come up in our membership in our immersive groups. What I find with the overachiever population is that fear. Fear of being exposed, perhaps that we don't know everything or we don't know how to go to the next level. Fear of being exposed, or fear of just not knowing, fear of someone else knowing. And we don't know, but there are many ways that we hide or perhaps we hide from something. But this is exactly the kind of thing that takes a lot of thinking and behavior to work around. So it's kind of like a workaround to be redundant. It's a workaround. It's a change order that is not going to affect the entire project. It's just a change order for a change order for those of you who've been in consulting. So what I'd like you to start to think about is if you could answer the question for yourself, what am I hiding or what am I hiding from? And then the next step to look at would be to think about what are the behaviors that I've put in place that keep me safe in my hiding or keep my hiding a good secret?
But I'd like for us to notice that there are certain behaviors that we are acting out every day that's taking our conscious energy, our unconscious energy, and our behavior to work around. So I'd like to ask you to think about this when you're able to figure out what are you hiding, and then when you think about what are the behaviors that I do so that I make sure that I keep this hiding in place? And what I mean by that is it's really common with overachievers to have sort of an imposter syndrome. And although they're typically very, very good at what they do because of that very characteristic, they're afraid that there's something they don't know. It seems to be very, very common with the people that I work with, and it actually doesn't matter at what level they're successful. So I want to sort of point out this idea that it is in our human nature to sometimes think about the idea that maybe we're not enough, or maybe there's something we don't know, or maybe there's something that someone else knows even about us that we don't know. But what I'd like you to do is once you've had an awareness of what that hiding is, I'd like for you to take a look at the behaviors and the energy that it takes to do the workarounds, to keep that in place. Because I want you to always think about this idea that we're either feeding this behavior or we're starving it. No.
And so as you think about the behaviors that you put in place to make sure that the hiding stays in place, I'd like for you to think about what would it be like if you were able to just accept whatever that fear is, whatever that hiding is. Just accept that maybe you think differently than other people, or maybe there is something that you'd actually don't know. Or maybe there's actually things that people around you know that you don't know. But if we were to radically accept that idea, how would that free us up in that self-acceptance to stay on our track and move towards our vision without all these distractions of self-consciousness? I'd like you to think about that, and I'd like to offer this encouragement to you today that again, comes up so often in our immersive groups, this reminder that exponential growth comes from investing in you, knowing you at a new level, and that's what brings a higher impact into the world.
So I invite you to think about where are you hiding? I'd like you to think about what are the behaviors that you enact that keep it in place? And then I'd like you to think about the idea of what if I didn't, didn't do all those behaviors? Instead, what if I radically accepted myself exactly as I am, stayed in my own lane and perhaps allowed others to be in their lane as well? So with that, I offer you this encouragement that you have everything you need within you. And that, again, exponential growth comes from investing in you, knowing you at a new level so you can bring a higher impact to the world. Thank you for listening to today's episode.
